Why is the BV3000 manicure table the right choice for your salon?
Products used in Beauty Salons contain chemicals that are potentially dangerous to the health. So, if you are reularly exposed to these products, you need an extraction system.
However, ventilated nail desk systems currently available on the market are simply elaborate fans or air purifiers. They simply move air around without removing the fumes to the levels required by law. If you are using one of these and your premises don’t have good ventilation, you’re not only exposing yourself to health hazards, but you’re also potentially breaching Health and Safety Regulations.
What makes BV3000 Nail Desk different?
The BenchVent BV3000 Ventilated Manicure Nail Desk uses 2-level filtration. Its fan motor sucks air and passes it through the first filter, a Particulate Filter that traps the fine dust. The air then moves through the second filter, a Carbon Filter, which adsorbs the fumes. This process removes up to 99% of the fumes generated during the manicure procedure, thus ensuring that the air in your nail salon is safe for you, your staff and your clients.
What does the law say?
HSE (Health & Safety Executive) recommends that a salon should have good standard of ventilation (SR13) and suggests the use of extractor hood or downdraught table. It also clearly states that dust masks are not acceptable as a control (according to the COSHH Essentials SR13 guide on nail bars)
In some areas, it is mandatory to install salon extraction system if people are regularly exposed to hazardous substances such as hardeners, drying agents, curing agents, MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) and nail dust as well as other solvent based products. It is also worth noting that long term exposure to MMA can cause damage to the respiratory system and the liver.
Demonstrating adequate control of the risks to the health of employees students and the general public, from dusts, powders, mists, fumes and vapours is the fundamental requirement of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (CoSHH). For LEV information for employers visit the HSE website.
